KertasKode Privacy Policy for EXIFFramer
1) Overview
EXIFFramer is an Android app by KertasKode that frames your photos with a clean white border and a caption derived from the photo’s EXIF metadata (for example: camera model, focal length, aperture, shutter speed, ISO). The app processes images entirely on your device. We do not operate servers for this app, and we do not collect, sell, or share personal data.
2) What the app does
- Lets you select a photo using the Android Photo Picker.
- Reads EXIF metadata from the selected photo to create a caption.
- Renders a new framed image and saves it to your device’s Photos (MediaStore). On older Android versions (Android 9 and below), the app may request legacy storage permission in order to save the file.
- Allows you to share the exported image via Android’s share sheet.
3) Data we process
Photos you select
- Purpose: Rendering a framed version of your photo.
- Where processed: On your device only.
- Transfer: Not uploaded or transmitted to KertasKode.
EXIF metadata from the selected photo
For example, make, model, lens, focal length, aperture, shutter, ISO.
- Purpose: To display a caption on the frame and, for JPEG exports, to write select EXIF tags into the exported image.
- Where processed: On your device only.
- Transfer: Not uploaded or transmitted to KertasKode.
- Note: The exported JPEG may include a
UserCommenttag set to “Framed with EXIFFramer” and may copy select camera-related EXIF tags into the new file you save to your device.
We do not collect names, email addresses, account information, or precise location.
4) Permissions
- Android Photo Picker: Lets you pick an image for processing. The app only has access to the items you select.
- Storage (legacy, Android 9 and below):
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGEis requested solely to save the exported image to your device. On Android 10 and above, the app uses scoped storage and does not request this permission.
The app does not request camera, microphone, contacts, SMS, calendar, or location permissions.
5) Data sharing
We do not share data with third parties. The app does not send your images or EXIF data to KertasKode or any external service.
6) Analytics, tracking, and ads
- No analytics SDKs.
- No tracking.
- No ads.
7) Third‑party libraries
EXIFFramer uses standard Android/Jetpack libraries (e.g., Jetpack Compose, AndroidX, ExifInterface, Kotlin Coroutines). These libraries run on your device and do not transmit your personal data to KertasKode.
8) Data storage and retention
- Exported images are saved to your device’s Photos (MediaStore), typically under
Pictures/EXIFFramer. - The app does not maintain its own remote storage or backups.
- You control retention. You can delete exported images using your device’s gallery or file manager. Uninstalling the app does not automatically remove images you previously exported to your device storage.
9) Children’s privacy
This app is intended for a general audience and does not target children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10) International data transfers
No data is transmitted to KertasKode servers, so there are no international data transfers initiated by this app.
11) Your choices and controls
- You can stop using the app at any time and uninstall it.
- You can delete exported images from your device storage at any time.
- On Android 9 and below, you can deny or revoke storage permission; the app will then be unable to export images to the device.
12) Changes to this policy
If we change the app’s functionality or begin using new data practices, we will update this Privacy Policy and the “Last updated” date above. Material changes will be highlighted on this page.
